Annual Conference

In an effort to provide high-quality professional development for Iowa’s workforce professionals, AIWP hosts an annual two-day conference that takes place during late March/early April. The conference features speakers that provide in-depth professional development on a number of topics including, but not limited to: 


  1. Measureable skills gains

  2. Work-based learning best practices 

  3. Serving persons with disabilities 

  4. Transitioning formerly incarcerated individuals into promising careers

  5. Working with immigrant and refugee populations and English language learners in workforce centers

  6. Intersectionality, implicit biases, and strategic inclusive communication

  7. Program co-enrollment and title partnerships

  8. Registered Apprenticeship programs

  9. Engaging the business community on your local boards
