AIWP provides quality professional development to Iowa’s workforce professionals through an annual conference and monthly professional development webinars that offer the latest information on training and emerging workforce issues.
Virtual Professional Development Series
As part of AIWP’s commitment to professional development, we are hosting a monthly Professional Development Webinar Series! Each month, we will feature an expert on a topic related to workforce development in Iowa. It is our hope that these professional development opportunities will continue to keep you and your staff engaged with best practices throughout the year.
Loren Bawn, Iowa Bureau of Refugee Services
Wednesday, October 21st; 12:00 – 1:00 PM
Participants will learn about a new initiative of the Iowa Bureau of Refugee Services to create a human services apprenticeship for refugee post-secondary youth. The program will use Youth Mentoring funding from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement to build, test and deploy an apprenticeship for refugees who help government agencies and nonprofits extend their services to refugee clients.
